Senior Mobile Engineer · Android Specialist · Product-minded, AI-driven
Málaga, Spain · Remote or Málaga
Senior Mobile Engineer with 8 years of experience delivering production-grade Android applications, complemented by solid iOS experience and some React Native. I have worked on multiple mobile apps across development, release and maintenance, with end-to-end ownership of the ones I highlight here. I bring a product mindset and use AI throughout the process, from planning to release, to turn ideas into polished apps quickly and with care for quality. Beyond writing code, I also own product decisions, coordinate releases across teams, and support other developers through code reviews and onboarding.

Exoticca · Senior Mobile Engineer (Android Lead)
Involved from the first line of code on Exoticca's mobile apps. I started as the only Android developer, grew into a two-person team, and owned the Android app throughout—expanding in the last year and a half to become the sole developer and mobile owner of both the Android and iOS apps (B2C and B2B). React Native came in only during the last three months. I designed and delivered features from zero to deployment, including release management and maintenance, and brought UX ideas from the user's point of view. I worked with AI agents and GitHub Copilot to ship faster without lowering the quality bar. I operated in English within a cross-functional team, leading code reviews, technical architecture, and release coordination.

Product & Leadership
Beyond writing code, the work I enjoy most is deciding what to build, aligning the people involved and getting it to users. Here is how I have done that.
Product ownership
I owned the product decisions for My Trip, a B2B app for Exoticca's partners and their travelers, from the idea to the store release. I helped define the scope and had the final say on which requirements to build. As the mobile owner, I also wrote user stories and managed the app backlog, coordinating with other teams to publish.

Data-driven decisions
I used A/B testing and Remote Config with Firebase, and analytics event tracking with Snowplow, to measure and validate product changes.

Technical leadership
I onboarded and mentored other mobile developers through code reviews across Android and iOS, and made the Android architecture decisions as owner of the mobile apps. I also brought web frontend developers up to speed on the React Native implementation, so the team could keep the apps evolving without depending on me.

Cross-team coordination
I coordinated releases with backend, UX, QA and product, from development to the store release.

Building with AI
AI is part of how I work every day, not an add-on. I bring the product thinking and the decisions, and use AI to plan, build and test faster, always reviewing what it produces. It lets me take an idea from concept to release in days instead of weeks, and I'm convinced it will keep reshaping how software and products are made. Here is where I have applied it end to end.

Adapted the Travelers' App codebase into a new B2B app using an AI-driven workflow. I owned the product decisions and used AI to plan and execute the build, reviewing its output throughout. Built in about a week, followed by a week of polish and coordination with other teams to publish. The result was business-critical: it helped retain a key client contract.

Product mindset
I'm always thinking about the people using the app. I put myself in the client's shoes, look for friction in the experience, and bring ideas to improve the UX, not just to build what's asked. Good products come from understanding the user first and the technology second.
My AI toolkit
I believe AI is here to stay: it's the future, and it keeps changing fast. That's why I treat it as a skill I keep learning, constantly trying new tools and models and keeping what actually works.
Coding assistants & agents
GitHub Copilot is my daily driver, complemented by Cursor, Junie, Google Antigravity and Gemini in the browser.

Models & context
Mainly Claude and ChatGPT models, with context files (such as CLAUDE.md) that give agents the right understanding of each project. Gemini for research and Android topics outside of code.

Skills
Engineering approach
- Architecture
- Native Android with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, Hilt, Room for offline caching, Jetpack Compose and Retrofit/OkHttp. I have worked with MVVM, MVC and MVP, made most of the architecture decisions on my projects, and done migrations from XML to Compose in the past. On iOS, I maintained and evolved a production app using VIPER architecture, combining SwiftUI and UIKit with dependencies managed via SPM and CocoaPods.
- Integrations
- Customer support and engagement SDKs such as Sprinklr Live Chat and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (push notifications and in-app messaging) across Android and iOS, payment libraries (Redsys), charts (MPAndroidChart), and hardware integrations (Sunmi printers).
- Quality & reliability
- Unit tests and Compose UI tests, maintaining the CI/CD pipeline, crash monitoring, and performance monitoring with Firebase Performance on both Android and iOS. I fixed crashes and production incidents, keeping the crash-free users rate above 99.8%.
- Collaboration & leadership
- Code reviews, onboarding and release coordination across teams.

Beyond Code
When I log off, you'll usually find me lost in a good video game or buried in a book or a manga, or enjoying a good movie or series with friends. I also enjoy taking part in game jams, building a game from scratch in a few days. I love being out in nature and I'm a big animal lover. I'm happy to talk about any of them over a coffee.
